BiographyDr. Drayton is Board Certified in Infectious Disease (ID) Medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM certifies the knowledge, diagnostic reasoning, and clinical judgment of the ID specialist across the broad domain of the discipline. The areas of knowledge assessed include antimicrobial therapy; immunodeficiencies; infection prevention & control; infestations; travel & tropical medicine; and bacterial, viral, fungal, and parasitic infections.
Dr. Drayton has been a practicing Infectious Disease specialist since 1994. She has practiced in diverse settings and has served in a variety of leadership roles which have contributed to her experience as a medical file reviewer. After 8 years in academia, Dr. Drayton served as Medical Director of Utilization Management at the largest IPA in Atlanta at the time, before opening her private practice (Atlanta Infectious Disease Consultants) in 2003.
